LOOKING TO HIRE FOR TOWN OF COLCORD – Utility Worker
The Town of Colcord is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Utility Worker. It is preferred this person already possess a current Class D Water and Wastewater License. This candidate must hold a valid driver’s license. This position reports to the Water Superintendent. As part of our team, you will perform general maintenance for the water, wastewater, street and park systems.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Water main repairs Water meter change outs
Water shut offs Water system flushing
Water samples Sewer main repairs
Sewer system jetting Lift station maintenance
Utility locates Mowing, weed eating and spraying
The ability to operate a backhoe is highly desired. You must be able to operate a tractor and zero turn mower.
The ideal candidate will also have the following qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Water and wastewater related experience such as plumbing and system maintenance
Have basic knowledge in maintenance of small engines, motors, pumps and basic carpentry skills.
Able to work both alone and as a team member
Ability to adjust quickly to varying tasks that come up during the workday
Must have good moral character with a willingness to learn and cooperate
Heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.), climbing and exposure to extreme elements is required in this position.
This employee is expected to be on-call after hours, weekends and holidays. You will be issued a company cell phone, and you will have a company vehicle for work use only.
The Town of Colcord offers this full-time position with a beginning wage depending on experience and a valid Class D Water license. The Town of Colcord is an equal opportunity employer.
